Community supported agriculture (CSA) is a direct partnership between the farmer and the consumer. Consumers purchase a ‘share’ at the beginning of the growing season and receive weekly delivery of fresh, local, seasonal produce throughout the 18 week growing season.
We follow organic farming principles and do not use synthetic pesticides or fertilizers. Pests are controlled with companion planting, crop rotation, daily hand-picking of bugs and, rarely, application of natural sprays such as neem oil and cinnamon. Soil is enriched with compost and aged manure. Our seeds are non- GMO, open-pollinated and we are avid seed-savers from our harvests.
Our produce is harvested at the peak of ripeness, generally the morning of delivery. We plant varieties for flavour and texture, not for shelf-life or appearance like those items trucked from thousands of kilometres away—our produce travels only a few kilometres. We enjoy eating what we grow and think our community deserves to enjoy it as much as we do.
